Andre Tilton a 17 year old Boyd High School student suffered a severe injury when chemicals at his 907 North Waddill Street home exploded injuring his left hand and part of his arm and chipping a foot bone. He was transported by Harris Emergency Ambulance to City-County Hospital and remains resting as well as could be expected.

The body of Lee Roy Cox of McKinney was recovered from Lake Lavon after a Tuesday night fishing trip with companion Joe G. Carley. Rescue crews from multiple towns found the 49 year old man southwest of the Baptist Encampment. Cox, born June 18 1906, resided at 912 Anthony Street and was a plumber. Survivors include his wife, son, daughter, two grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Crouch Moore Chapel with interment in Wilson Chapel Cemetery.
