Lon Furr with wife and daughter Miss Mary Lee returned to Abilene after a visit with McKinney relatives. Furr is son of J B Purr and wife is daughter of J L Aires fall of its city. Lon is an expert concrete worker and contractor.
Mrs. John Ritter of Dallas has been moved from St. Pauls hospital to her Gaston avenue home. She is able to be up some and friends express happiness at her improvement.
Mrs P. Walker and her daughter Loui Atys have returned after a week spent with Mrs J. M. Williams and family in Fort Worth.

James Garland cashier of the First National Bank of Allen reports that about 40 percent of grain in Collin county territory has already been foreshed and marketed. Wheat yields 8 to 20 bushels per acre, averaging 10 to 12. Corn stands good but wet weather and grass reduce moisture and harm the crop. Cotton is doing well and much cleaned and cultivated. Farmers usually raise ample feed, reducing needs to buy feed this yearowing to favorable conditions.
McKinney Dry Goods Co announces a large sale opening Friday June 28 at the northeast square corner store. Manager G G McAlexander invites men and women to visit and reap bargains amid a two page ad promising savings on quality merchandise for neighbors and Collin County customers.
W. M. Jake Gibson, a prominent county farmer and leading Jersey breeder, called at the office yesterday. He has served two years as president of the Texas State Jersey Cattle Club, with his home farm on the Metalsa pike west of town.
Work began Tuesday to remodel the Thos. E. Craig building on East Louisiana Street for Eugene Martins new moving picture show the Melba. He hopes to be in operation by July 15 with a seating capacity of about 350.
dt Blanton was summoned from the home of his daughter Mrs. SA Littlejohn in the Woodlawn area near McKinney to Memphis Tennessee to attend to his sister who is critically ill. Friends in McKinney hope for her condition to improve and for his speedy return to visit.

Lion Hy LL Neilson combined the young men class with George Brown's older men's bible class at First Methodist Church Sunday and taught both groups for the day. Brown is on a two months vacation this summer, so substitute teachers are covering his class.
A Littlejohn family three miles northeast of McKinney report cutting and baling 300 bales of millet hay from their Woodlawn area. He hopes good weather continues for more hay making and notes corn and cotton conditions plus pests. Mrs. Bedford Taylor of Odessa visits her parents in the city with husband, a Texas Power and Light district superintendent.
J. M. Sutherland of Cellan a business visitor in McKinney says the cotton crop is largely cleaned out though the plant is doing fairly well. He owns hundreds of acres on the former Parvin ranch and has no wheat this year while his 40 acre oat crop awaits threshing.
Miss Frances Louise Reast, visiting Miss Rosabel McKey, returned to Whitesboro with Miss McKey. They will attend the wedding of friend Miss Gene Sutthuth today at the location.
Roy S Ltock man oversaw a flag tournament at Hill Crest Country Club with local members competing. The event began about 3 o clock and the general public was invited to watch the golf action for honors.

Professor A D Martin of Texas A and M and his wife visited McKinney to see Mrs Retta Torn. Their son A D Jr recently graduated with high honors from A and M and heads to Washington to join the Bureau of Standards. Another son Meg, 13, stayed behind in Bryan.
Pat Kindle and Mike Wurr, two well known young men of this city, have arrived home after a several days visit in Corpus Christi.
M L Dickerson known as Dick Dicker, about fifty, shot himself in the head at his Arlington home around 1130 Monday night and died at 6 am Tuesday in Fort Worth Baptist hospital. He had lived in McKinney and ran a cotton exchange in the Crouch building. He leaves a wife and three sons and was connected with cotton and grocery businesses in Wylie Murphy and Allen. Finances cited as cause. burial planned in Arlington. Gene Baldwin and Bob Dickerson were with him at the hospital and Arlington funeral plans were set.
S A Littlejohn of Woods Lawn farm sold 404 crates of Bermuda onions from two acres at $1.31 per crate. After expenses, the crop netted about $193 per acre. He plans a four acre seed onion crop later, hopeful for similar or better results. The buyer accepted the field weights and no calls were reported. The onions reportedly grew on poor soil but yielded surprisingly well.
