McKinney Area Raises 32000 Pounds Scrap Rubber
McKinney and Collin County communities collected 32000 pounds of scrap rubber in a War effort drive led by Boy Scouts. Homes were canvassed citywide to June 30 with a goal of boosting supplies for the war program.

Denison Man George Brunson Dies in Rain Accident
George S. Brunson 56 a former McKinney resident and brother of Mrs. R I Samples of this city died after a rain related accident in Denison. He lived in Blue Ridge Collin County attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a Katy railroad employee. Survived by wife two sons and five sisters. Funeral services planned with family traveling from Houston Chicago and other cities.
