Melissa voters head to the polls on July 9 to decide on re incorporation after the previous 81 to 80 unincorporation vote. A petition bearing 85 signatures prompted the Commissioners Court to call a new election with Judge Mrs Jewell Arnold and assistant judges Mrs Homer Phillips and Mrs Emily Mangum.

Car Crashes Into Store In Princeton Crumbly
City police investigated two Monday accidents with no injuries. A 193 Rambler driven by Terry Lynn Cave of Princeton rammed a plate glass window at J C Penney after brakes failed, $50 car damage and $150 window damage. A 1953 International Harvester truck driven by Henry Giles Gillard of Garland overturned on Graves street causing $600 damage.

Celina Man Receives Promotion at State Farm
Jack Stanton of Celina has been promoted from underwriting clerk to underwriting trainee in the Northeast Texas Underwriting unit at State Farm Insurance Companies in Dallas. He joined as an application clerk in 1959 and has since served as renewal payment clerk and code assigner. Stanton, a 1959 Prosper High School graduate, attended North Texas State University.
