Z C Rose died Sunday at his son I A Roses home in Parker community after illness. Funeral conducted by Rev A H Snider at Forest Grove Tuesday at 2 pm with interment in Witz Hugh cemetery. Survived by wife Mary Arnold Rose and twelve children including E H Rose J A Rose Tilatha Copas G T Rose and Verdie Griffin. Sixty six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Five men lynch suspect in Houston detective murder
Robert Powell, a 74 year old black man, was dragged from Jefferson Davis hospital by five armed men and hanged from a bridge on the Post Oak road near Houston. Powell had been charged with killing City Detective A. W. Davis after a gun battle. Deputy Sheriff Y. Q. Brizendine was held at pistol point during the kidnapping.
