Jimmie Barrow a 19 year old Greenville youth drowned after falling from a boat while water skiing on Lake Lavon. His body was recovered hours later as emergency units from McKinney Farmersville Wylie Garland Dallas and Farmers Branch searched the depths about three quarters of a mile off Little Ridge Park.

Deputy Robert Ramsey reports a busy weekend for officers with 20 prisoners in the county jail Monday. A 1957 model pickup stolen in Dallas June 13 was recovered near Lake Lavon. Two 17 year old Dallas youths were arrested for taking a lawn mower. Four youths were picked up at Lake Lavon and two men were charged near Lucas. A burglary at McKinney Concrete Company yielded $100 cash. A Fort Worth woman was arrested for intoxicated driving and three people jailed for drunkenness.

Three Wrecks Investigated Over Weekend
Local traffic officers investigated three accidents this weekend. Two cars collided at the Tennessee and Herndon Streets intersection injuring no one with total damage of 175 dollars.
