The City Council approved issuing 50 000 of the remaining 230 000 street improvements bonds from 1957 to fund a revolving street paying policy. Property owners in paving projects may pay their share over up to 48 months. A summer water rate of 10 cents per 1000 gallons applies for usage over 11 000 gallons in June July August and September.

Four Hurt In Accident Near Melissa
Patrolman Jesse Reed was called to Farm Road 545 two and a half miles east of Melissa at 7 25 a m Tuesday where a pickup driven by Mrs Ditt Luscomb and a 1954 model car driven by Mrs How ell Gilbert collided and skidded into a ditch. Both vehicles sustained about 350 in damage and four people were taken to Wysong Hospital by Turretine Jackson ambulances. Mrs Gilbert’s daughter Mrs Joan Crutcher and her grandson Nicky J Crutcher were with her and also suffered cuts and bruises.
