George Jones was charged with transporting liquor and fined $100 with $127.85 in costs assessed.
The Collin County Bankers Association will hold a dinner meeting Friday night June 15 at 7:30 in the Prosper Methodist Church basement. Bankers from across the county are expected. Central National and Collin County National Banks of McKinney will be represented.
Two out of county cars collided at the intersection of Tennessee and Highway 75 about 4 PM Tuesday. Investigating officers report no injuries but $250 damage to both cars. Drivers are Josephine Ansburyy of Horton Kansas and Leora Pomremke of Harlingen. County deputies Hatfield and Mahan arrested two drunks Tuesday night about a mile and a half south of McKin.
Deputies Jim Standerfer and Robert Ramsey arrested a transporter from Denison about 7:30 p m Tuesday near Roadside Park on Highway 75 South. They confiscated 90 cases of beer and filed charges against the truck driver for transporting intoxicating liquor.
Jim Carey of Dallas was visiting friends here on Tuesday, leaving little remaining detail in the brief clipping.
The First Methodist Church will install a Chrysler Airtemp unit to serve the church and educational building. Rev. H. C. Hoy announces the system will be ready soon and enhance comfort for worshippers during the hot season. The church hosts numerous activities and members anticipate operation in the near future.
Paul Hardin and Senator Ray Roberts spoke on soil and water conservation at the Lions Club luncheon. The program covered flood prevention sites, costs, and regional legislation plans with a statewide program goal and ongoing Water Resources Committee work.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Crowder return home after a pleasant weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Sneden Allen and relatives at Mason. They attended a dinner party Saturday night hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Terrell Allen and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Allen at the ranch home of the latter.
Mrs Frances Scott returns to work in Dallas on Tuesday after several days of illness. She spent part of the period as a patient at City-County Hospital.

John’s Lodge held a Tuesday evening meeting to elect officers for the coming year. Elected: Worshipful Master W. Roy Howard, Senior Warden Woodall Durham, Junior Warden Ernest Lawrence, Treasurer Walter B. Commons, Secretary John Sears, Trustee Warren Cobb. Appointive officers named: Chaplain Louis V. Texas 4-H Club members will receive 17 educational awards this fall from Santa Fe Railway System funds for outstanding achievement. Thirteen winners will go to the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago November 25 to 29. Four winners receive 250 college scholarships based on overall 4-H project work.
Roy S. Raper announces a regular meeting of the Jimmie Geigas Post American Legion for Thursday night June 14. Officers will be elected and all members are urged to be present with refreshments served after the meeting.
Beverly Young daughter of Mr and Mrs Paul C Young was named Miss Jaycee of 1956 in McKinney while six senior contestants received trophies. Lynn Cundiff and Kathi Harris placed second and third. Junior division honors went to Jackie Sapp Vicki Miller and Penny Wysong. Dwayne Howell chaired the event with James Stewart as master of ceremonies.Highlights included Elizabeth Hughes Fort Worth Light Crust Doughboys and George McCoy’s Combo entertainment.
Euel Ford Chief of Police warns McKinney citizens about city ordinances against obstruction of streets and sidewalks. The notice cites sections 2 to 5 of ordinance No 25, detailing prohibitions and penalties up to fifty dollars per offense with daily violations counting separately, effective June 20 1956.
Paul Hardin and Senator Ray Roberts spoke at the McKinney Rotary Club about Wilson Creek and Honey Creek dam projects. Hardin said ten dams approved on Wilson Creek with construction pending funding. four more on Honey Creek bring total on that tributary to fourteen. five completed and twenty planned on Sister Grove. Roberts discussed water law conflicts and urged audience to follow soil and water conservation news. A. C. Lewis introduced as new Southwestern Bell manager.
All graduates of the Dale Carnegie Course, conducted here by the Jaycees, will meet Friday at 7 30 p m in the Love Star Gas Company to form an international club with monthly practice sessions. Officers will be elected. any Carnegie graduate is invited. Mr and Mrs Kenneth Eubanks returned from the Rotary International convention in Philadelphia and visited New York, Washington, D C, and other East points.

A Sunday crash near Nevada in east Collin involved Charles E. Poster of Farmersville driving a new 1956 car that was demolished after overturning on a farm road. State Patrolman Dan Nowling cites serious injuries and cites Foster for traffic violations. other wrecks nearby caused minor injuries and $450 damage across three cars.
Manager David Allen of the Jaycee Recreation Center announces summer pool hours with 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 pm on Monday Wednesday Thursday and Friday. Afternoon access 2 to 5 pm on Tuesday Saturday and Sunday. Lifeguards are Bill Nichols Charles Ledbetter and Reed West with Albert Helsley as substitute.
Misses Jean and Joan Armstrong, students at North Texas State College in Denton, were guests of Mrs Buford Young in the home of Mrs Rex Kindle this summer. Armstrong and Mrs Youre were former roommates at college.

Eleven McKinney Methodist Youth Fellowship members represent their denomination at the North Texas Conference Methodist Youth Assembly at Southern Methodist University in Dallas from June 2 to June 7. Delegates include Joe Charles McKinney Linda Cox Joan Gayle Leach Kay Kelly Nita Doris Daniels Ann Marie Allen Linda Daniel Linda Kay Clapp Beth Taylor Peggy Jenkins and Judy Howell as about 120 youths from the conference participate.
The Collin County Chamber of Commerce invites McKinney and Collin County girls to enter the state Miss Wool contest in San Angelo from August 27 to September 1. Eleven finalists will be chosen from photos and applications to compete. a representative from McKinney may have expenses paid. entrants must be 20 to 25, height 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, college experience, and willing to travel modeling across the United States for a year. Prizes include an all wool wardrobe worth 4000 dollars, matched luggage, and a 1956 convertible.

Chief Euel Ford reports charges filed against a 27 year old McKinney man for assault attempted murder and possession of whiskey and beer for sale. His wife injured, in City-County Hospital after a severe beating. Deputies Standerfer and Eldridge conducted two Farmersville raids finding whiskey and beer.
Henry Bales Sr. is discharged from City County after weeks under 18 ppm for injuries from an accident. He is reportedly improving naively.
A 19 year old white man was arrested in McKinney after burglaries in McKinney and Oklahoma. Chief Euel Ford filed charges after the homeowner found a man leaving the Webb residence and alerted police. Authorities traced him along Highway 24 before arrest. He admitted stealing money from religious office areas in town.
The McKinney Chamber of Commerce hosts two eight session courses led by W G Bohannon UT Extension. The window display course runs June 18 from 9 10 a m at the Chamber building and the show card writing class meets 7 9 p m evenings. Topics include display impact lighting backgrounds and merchandise arrangement to boost gate counts and main street appearance. City officers Bob Hardin and George Taylor investigated two auto accidents late Monday afternoon. At the Erwin and Sherman Streets corner a McKinney pair James Kiownard and Taprica Lewis collided causing 1035 dollars in damage. A second collision on the same day caused 775 dollars in damage and one injury was reported.
