New Modern Theater Planned for Waddill Site in McKinney
A new modern three story theater building will rise on the Waddill property at the northwest corner of Pine. J P Michael wins the contract. completion expected by September first. The project includes retail space, offices, a 700 seat lower floor plus balcony, and will replace the America theater. The theater will be operated by F and M Theater Enterprises with management tied to BRIT Breckman. George Lindsey of Greenville designed the plans.

Funeral Services Held at Altoga for Mrs Cate
Funeral services for Mrs. G. O Cate who died at her Altoga area home after a long illness were held Monday at the Altoga tapernacle. Rev. J. R Hilger and Rev. J. B. Vermillion conducted the service with burial in Altoga cemetery. She was born May 19 185 and died at age 73 20. Surviving children include Mrs. G. G. Lovelady Mrs. S L Smith Bar J H Ferguson Manteoth Cate Mrs John Thompson Manford Cate and T C Cate with one son deceased in 1915. The service drew many relatives including grandsons Clarence Cate Arby Cate Raymond Lovelady Morest Lovelady and Altos Lovelady. The packed attendance included numerous McKinney and Cleburne attendees. A solo by Frankie Oates accompanied the service.

First Wheat of New Crop Marketed in Collin County
The first wheat of the new crop was sold in Collin county bought by Hughston Grain Co of Plano. It was loaded at Renner grown by L L S and McKampy. The wheat tested 60 pounds per bushel yielding 24 bushels per acre. One ear was sent to Seguin and another to Stamford.
