James Edward Martin charged with driving while intoxicated fined 100 dollars and costs total 129.45. Charles R. Rogers charged with driving while intoxicated fined 50 dollars and costs totaling 79.45. M. Glenn charged with driving while intoxicated fined 50 dollars and costs totaling 79.45. Herman Red Smith charged with sale of liquor fined 100 dollars and costs totaling 130.70. Gerald Fisher charged with driving while intoxicated fined 75 dollars and costs totaling 106.85. Dave Wilcoxson charged with possession of liquor fined 100 dollars and costs totaling 133.55.
Wynn Acquitted In Murder Trial Here. One at Wynn Plano Negro was acquitted in a murder case on trial here since Monday in 59th District Court. Testimony began Monday afternoon after a 125 person special venue jury was selected. The jury deliberated about 40 minutes before verdict. Judge W C Dowdy presided with Moses and Truett and Bob Hendricks for defense. County Attorney Dwight Whitwell and T E Williams for the state. Wynn had been charged with the murder of S L Payton, Plano Negro, two months ago.
Airman Vandagriff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse T. Vandagriff of Anna, has been visiting for 20 days. Stationed at Lowrey Air Force Base in Denver as an Electronics Instructor, he also leads the seven-piece band the Rhythm-Aires, performing in Denver metro venues and Colorado towns including Fountain, Colorado Springs, Lakewood, and Aurora.
Mr and Mrs Rob McCarley of Westminster were business visitors in McKinney. While there they visited Mrs Marleys aunt Mrs Annie McClure.
Plano Rotary Club met at the Lake Lavon filtration plant east of Wylie for a barbecue luncheon and tour. Hosts A R Schell Jr and Leon Dugger organized the program with Mr Schell as chairman and Dugger supplying the meal and air conditioned cars for members. Engineer Andy Rollins discussed the NTMWD’s system of nearly 100 miles of pipes and a 48 inch line delivering water to nine member cities. He noted nine ground storage tanks including one in Plano and praised the water quality and uniformity. He also cited the NTMWD as a model for other Texas and Southwest cities and pointed to a loving cup awarded to the district. President Bill Williams opened the meeting and Don W Bagwill offered the invocation.
McKinney Boys Baseball League opened the summer season with games at the Community Center and V A Hospital diamonds. Monday results include Green Midgets-Owls 16 2 Panthers 15 Orioles 15 Hornets Red Midgets Cardinals 6 Cats 4 Parrots 9 Tigers 5 Blue Midgets Hawks 12 Eagles 10 Bears 4 Bulldogs 4. A Texas Highway Patrol summary for Collin County and District 2 shows seven fatalities this year through May, with 32 injuries and $63,960 in property damage across 640 district accidents since January 1, 1957. Causes include Driving While Intoxicated, speeding, following too closely, improper passing, driving on the wrong side, improper turns, and improper parking. Six single vehicle crashes and two involving a drinking driver produced two deaths, 13 injuries, and $19,110 in damage.

A H Eubanks president of the McKinney Chamber addressed the Lions Club at noon detailing the Industrial Foundation and its plan to balance McKinney's economy toward more industry and less agriculture. He outlined capital structure and fund purpose as local leaders announced a county rodeo fundraiser for June.
W S Nichols administrator announces arrangements with Dr Murray D Schonfeld for all X ray and fluoroscopic work at City County Hospital. Schonfeld, Harvard Medical School 1951 graduate, trained at Baylor, diplomate of the American Board of Radiology with nuclear medicine certification. He serves Baylor St Pauls and Parkland and is clinical instructor at Southwestern Medical School. He will work Monday Wednesday and Friday mornings with local physicians for X ray interpretation and fluoroscopy.
The Collin County Equalization Board will be in session on June 24 25 and 26 9 o'clock in the County Court Room of the courthouse to hear assessments and appeals.
Pamela Holloway and Richard Dowd attend a two week band camp at East Texas State College in Commerce.
Deputies and fire crews aided Lake Lavon drownings with the McKinney and Wylie units recovering the eighth victim, Gene Blankenship 29 of Greenville. A Frisco assault left Frederick Pearson wounded, two others jailed. burglary at Williams Grocery in Lavon yielded about $50. Eleven additional injuries and wrecks peppered the county as patrols logged several hospitalizations and police activity.
Mohammad Jamil Ahmed Khan of Karachi is a three day guest in McKinney living with Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Griffin on Tucker Street. A former private secretary and official reporter for Pakistan’s Constituent Assembly, he studied at Delhi Karachi and New York University and works on international conference reporting. He toured industrial plants Veterans Hospital and county farms while in town and attended an open house hosted by the Griffins.
Red Cross announces a water safety instructors course starting June 24 in McKinney. Open to 18 plus volunteers who have passed senior lifeguard, with local residents Stanley Jaggers Jack Cannady Beverly Colling Linda Coleman Peggy Jenkins Don Wyatt Ronald Love Sam Thomas listed as recent senior life saving graduates. Prospective instructors are urged to call Ross Orenduft Jr. for reservations and further details.
Deputies Thomas and Vaughn of the Sheriffs Department placed two men in jail Tuesday evening on drunk charges. City officers picked up a traffic violator for the Highway Patrol, and all other activities were reported as routine. Local firemen answered a call on South Tennessee Street Tuesday afternoon where a garage was on fire. However, little damage resulted.
Mr and Mrs Bedford Taylor, former Mc Kinney residents, were guests Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs W C Newberry in Dallas.
Allen resident Larry Michael Popplewell, 18, son of Mr and Mrs B H Popplewell, earned an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point through Congressman Sam Rayburn. A multi sport high school athlete and former Allen High School student, he attended Southern Methodist University last year and plans to report for training July 2 after leaving Dallas in June.
Tickets for the Jaycee Beauty Pageant at the Community Center on June 9 are available from chairman Doug Brown and Jaycees at $1 reserve, $0.50 general, and $0.25 children. The event at 8 p.m. features a Miss Collin County division with a Kerrville trip prize, and will include three age divisions with talent and fashion displays. Jack Smith is general chairman. A former Dallas minister now with Alcoholics Anonymous will speak at the AA meeting Thursday night at o oclock in the club rooms above Monroe's Appliance. A report on the Odessa state AA conference will be given, with about 2900 attendees from Texas and other states.
Miss Diane Hall travels to Calgary Canada to spend three weeks with school friend Miss Sally Evans.
Mrs. Peritus Hayden will depart Saturday June 15 for a four three week trip to Puerto Rico to stay with her son Major Earl C. Hayden and his family at Ramey Air Base.

Denton is no longer the District Two state city. The district meeting will be August 18, 1957, at City-County Hospital in McKinney with an 8:00 a m breakfast and programs by Dr. E D Emanuel, Dr Marshall Searcy, and Dr Lockwood. A coffee hour precedes lectures on clinical PB application and X ray.
Mrs Walter Reese Sr of Waco visits her sister Mrs Jim Taylor and plans trips to see sisters Mrs Lathe Dowell Taster in Dallas and Mrs Ben Hill in Fort Worth this week across Texas with family members nearby.
Mrs Frank Haynes reports her 15 year old nephew Ned Price Sr of Tyler is in hospital with polio. He is the son of Judge Ned Price of Tyler and is said to be getting along as well as can be expected.
H L Shoap is reappointed by McKinney City Council to a two year NTMWD Board term starting June 1 1957. C D Cabaniss is appointed by Garland City Council to a two year NTMWD Director term starting June 1 1957. Board officers elected for 1957 include J O Wallace President C Hansford Ray Vice President C Truett Smith Secretary Treasurer.
St Johns Lodge No. 5 A F P A M elected officers for the coming year at a meeting in the Masonic Hall Tuesday evening. Larry Carrell son of Mr and Mrs R D Carrell and Bryan White son of Mr and Mrs Hubert White attend Band School at ETSC in Commerce for a few days. Both played with L A Scott Junior High Band last year and will be with the High School group next year.
Mr and Mrs Clay Evans learn their son Sgt Danny Evans has been promoted to staff sergeant. The family expects his wife and their baby daughter to return home in July for a two week leave. He is stationed at Parrty Island South Carolina with the Marine Corps.
