Capt Watson formerly chief of protection at Murcia Shoals dam on the Tennessee River retired after thirty years service and moved from Muscle Shoals Alabama to Frisco Texas with his wife. He is a Mason and was active in fraternal circles and local business before settling back in his old Texas home county.
Elisha Wade, 58, died suddenly of paralysis at Lebanon on Tuesday December 19. He woke in good health, ate breakfast, and planned to visit a brother before collapsing. A native of Kentucky, he was the son of the late Mr and Mrs J J Wade of the Lebanon community. Burial followed at Rowlett Cemetery on Wednesday.
The First Baptist Church hosted a Christmas cantata titled All Glorious and directed by J C Ewing with Mrs Paul Wilson on organ. Soloists included Frankie Oates Janet Miller and others as the choir performed. Dr J B Covard preached a message titled Glad Tidings. Workers prepare a new office space as carpenters painters and paperhangers work.
Judge Harrington and his wife thank McKinney and Collin County friends for letters visits and kind messages after their auto wreck. They express sincere appreciation and wish readers happiness and prosperity this holiday season.
M H Cahill chairman and president of the MKT and T railroad declares optimism for 1934 with rising prosperity for the Southwest. He notes Katy will close 1933 after deficit funding, and credits newspaper advertising as proving its power to support growth for the line from 1872 onward.

McAlexander, with Mrs. Lee Hedgcoxe in second and John Pruitt in third. Winners listed include Mr. and Mrs. Merle Reinhardt of Fort Worth and families connected to Ardell, Wayne Graves, Bagwill, and Mrs. Roe Lawson near the Brooméale community.

The acting Postmaster General announces a new flight record at Miami Florida after a test that must stay aloft until 6:09 p m Thursday. Officials say the attempt aims to establish a new standard in air service records.
In 56 Year Ago notes a surveyor from Coleman County B Whitney and several gentlemen returned from Young County to lay out a new town on the Fort Belknap site. The town of Belknap already has three stores and eight families and ties to I B Wilson, father of Add G Wilson of the Central State Bank.
The editor spoke with Collin County’s Sheriff G J S Walker who, on January 1, 1934, will have completed a year in office. He has overseen hundreds of prisoners with two escapes. one back in five hours and another later in Seaton Texas. He has pursued escaped convicts across multiple states and logged over 30000 miles in duty travel.
Writer R R James of Blue Ridge smiles at editors in the city Tuesday. A native of the county and son of Wallace J a pioneer rural mail carrier, he has nine years teaching experience and five years as superintendent of Blue Ridge public schools. He plans to run for county superintendent of public schools with the new year.
The Senior High faculty presented Prof. Jack R. Ryan with a valuable feature watch as a testimonial of esteem for him personally and for his leadership and uniform work. The surprise occurred Friday morning at the city school.
Prof. Nobile J. Atkins coach of the McKinney High Lions expresses gratitude for a $100 gift from local businessmen at the annual football banquet. He praises McKinney’s citizens and predicts a bright 1934 season after two tough years. The Atkinses then planned a Fort Worth visit with relatives.
Owen Woodward Todd aged 23 son of Mr and Mrs G N Todd of Pilot Point died in an Austin hospital after a brief illness Monday night He had been in poor health for years and is survived by his parents brothers Clarence C Todd of Pilot Point Edd Regan of Sherman Oscar Selby Leland and Lois at home and Mrs Alex A Allison of Celina along with uncles and the Board family friends.
Mrs Mary Browne returns from Longview. Rev and Mrs F Lamar McGown host the Senior YP department Christmas party at the parsonage. The evening featured a Christmas exchange and a beautifully lit Christmas tree with decorations. Refreshments were served to twenty attendees. Bettye Holloman oversees the department. special guest Mrs Pay Snider teaches the Sunday group.
The Conoco Service Station will relocate to Judge F. Wilcox's building on January 1 across from the Daily Courier-Gazette. A local manager will run the new station. Dinner guests attended by Albert N. Jackson and wife, and Mrs. Pear, honoring the guest's mother and grandmother.

A family note from Wichita Falls recalls a warm Christmas with W A Boonelas and Susie Worsham kin joining Mr and Mrs Smith and their sons Sam and Charlie for a turkey feast. The old father received many gifts as officers and townsfolk shared in the holiday cheer at McKinney. Weather was misty but spirits stayed high as County Commissioner Christie and Mrs Christie joined in the celebration.
