1956 Upland Cotton Allotments for Collin County
The county's 1956 upland cotton allotment totals 90,93 acres an increase of about 500 acres from last year. Cotton producers will vote on marketing quotas for the 1956 crop on Tuesday December 13 at designated ballots. Any farmer who produced cotton in 1955 may vote.

Santa Parade Opens McKinney Holiday Season
The annual Christmas parade sponsored by the Retail Merchants Association drew a large crowd in McKinney on Thursday. Old Saint arrived on a float preceded by Cub Scouts and Blue Birds as school bands played carols. The parade ended at the courthouse with the first free gift drawings from local merchants. drawings will continue each Thursday at 4 30 p.m. through December 22 with prizes redeemable by 6 30 p.m. that day. Two Hurt In Highway Wrecks Near McKinney
Two wrecks Saturday morning near McKinney sent two people to City-County Hospital. John R. Shafer of Detroit slid off wet pavement on highway 75 South near a ravine, injuring a shoulder and head before ambulance transport. In Princeton the eastbound collision on highway 24 involved Betty Kathryn Johnson and a truck driver Sylvester Car Davis. Johnson treated for injuries while Davis uninjured. A third late Friday night crash on East Virginia Street caused about 350 in damages with Billy Rae Mills and Mrs. Jean Powell Bentley unhurt. City officials investigated each incident.

Burglars Hit Three McKinney Businesses
Three McKinney business houses were robbed Wednesday night or Thursday morning, with a total cash take of several hundred dollars and a stolen 1950 Ford. The Wilson Food Store on North Tennessee suffered four to five hundred dollars from a forced safe entry. at Close Garage a car was stolen and a small cash amount taken. Hays Motors on North Tennessee was entered via an interior door. An acetylene torch was used to open the safe at Wilson’s. Police are investigating. the Wilsons say their loss is partly insured.
