Masons Call For Eastern Star Split in State Edict
Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania orders all Masons to quit Eastern Star or leave the Masonic Order. About 20 000 Masons in the state who are Star members face six months to choose, as edict enforces dissolution of dual affiliation. The move follows repeated Eastern Star demands for Mason recognition, prompting court injunction talk and widespread agitation. The edict was issued by Grand Master John S Selig of Greensburg.

Kerosene Price Cut by Atlantic Refining to 12 Cents
Philadelphia June 17 The Atlantic Refining Company lowered kerosene price from tank wagons to 12 cents per gallon, a 48 percent drop since February. From 20 cents in February to 18 in March and two more drops in May and June led to the current 12 cent rate. The reduction touches farm areas in Pennsylvania and Delaware, easing household cooking costs and reducing stove odors during summer.
