Peanut John Musanti Dies From Skull Fracture In Sudden Collapse

Italian born resident known as Peanut John died at Mrs Push home on the south side Sunday morning aged about 65. He suffered a fractured skull after falling forward while seated, amid long illness including Brights disease and diabetes. Funeral held at St Elizabeths Church with Rev J F Dagan. burial in St Elizabeths Cemetery. He once ran a fruit and nut stand near Spragues Hardware and later a shop east of Brownells. He left a son and other relatives. A local theater notice adds Thorns and Orange Blossoms scheduled for Thursday February 28 boarding at a borough venue.

Lion and the Manuse Amped Smethport Audiences

Smethport audiences applauded a strong Lyceum performance of The Lion and the Manuse by Harry B. Harris and company on a Tuesday evening. Flora Juliet Bowley as Shirley Rossmore won praise for cleverness and charm, while Oliver Doud Byron as John Barkett Ryder drew strong approval. Charles D. Pitts as Jefferson Ryder also impressed as a solid supporting role. The production featured elaborate scenery and was well staged, with prominent ovations for leads after the second and third acts.

Runaway Cutter Collision on Water Street Causes Fall

A cutter hitched to P. E. Parker's team ran away near Mechanic Street and Union Street. The cutter overturned at Union, Parker was dragged about thirty rods before crashing into a tree by O J Vanblad's shop. Parker soaked but uninjured. only damage was a broken whiffle-tree.

Two Cent Rail Fare Passes Amid Rail Oppose Strong Vote

The House passed a two cent maximum passenger fare bill by 177 to 0 after late arrivals added affirmatives. The bill allows constitution tickets and does not block extra fares on high class trains. Reynolds bill restricting railroad coal property interests also passed with two votes against.
