Crags Chapter appeals for blood donors ahead of a February 26 Dmobile visit to Smethport area. Volunteers urged to meet quota, with more than one drive to support patients. Telephone numbers listed for interested donors and local contact.
Education leaders and interested parents will gather at Lock Haven Teachers College auditorium for a regional meeting in Pennsylvania. The event runs from 2 to 4 pm with lunch served. about 100 to 150 attendees from Lycoming, Clinton, Tioga, McKean, and Cameron counties are expected.
In Smethport on February 4 the Star Theatre reopened after a May 1855 closing with the film The Society starring Grace Kelly Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. Owner Willy Anderson thanked the community, citing support from the Chamber of Commerce VFW Lions Rotary PTA and Fire Department. Mrs Margret M Gallup longtime Bradford resident dies Tuesday at home on Green Street. Born Margaret Mary McKean in 1890 she and her husband Fred D Gallup lived at 68 West Avenue before moving back to Bradford in 1850s. A member of St Luke Episcopal Church and sister to several children she leaves seven grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral at St Luke Episcopal Church with burial in Willow Dale Cemetery.

James Stinson Sr a Navy veteran from Bradford has been appointed to lead the county veterans affairs office, succeeding the late Michiel Perks. He has ties to local groups and plans to coordinate veteran services with county officials and organizations.
