Local Social Notes From Ireton and Surrounding Areas

Mr J Coimery visited friends in Ireton Saturday. James Mieras of Harrisburg was visiting here for a couple days and returned home Monday. Local residents attended the county basketball tournament in Ireton Saturday. A few youths went to the Orange City game Saturday evening. Rev Gerrit Van Paaese m and family visited in Sioux Center Monday. The Ames Jasper group visited Treton last Thursday to witness Birth of a Nation. Mrs P Niemantverdriet went to Orange City Saturday to visit her daughter Mrs Kooi. P Hoekstra moved to the house vacated by J W Juffer and Mrs Vander Maanen will occupy that house. Johannes Mieras and James Mieras, visiting here, went to Paullina Saturday to visit their brother M A Mieras. English services will be held at St Johns German Lutheran Church west of town next Sunday March 11 at 7 30 pm. Mrs Smith and Mrs Woodard visited A D Benson home. Sargent I Blatts spent a couple days last week. Oliver Mieras resigned as high operator. Sam Jager accepted the job. Mrs Ceo Mueller went to Orange City Tuesday to visit her niece Selma Siege in hospital there. Sohn Klompenberg Jaffi near Orange City visited John Brouwer home Wednesday. Br and Mrs Oggel entertained friends Friday evening with Mr and Mrs Wm and Martin Van Peursem, Wm and James Duven, John Mieras, Peter Van Peursem, Mrs Beyers, and Mrs Beckering. Evening included progressive carrom and lunch. all reported a good time.
