Parrot Saves Italian Woman at New York Immigration Station
An Italian woman facing deportation at a New York immigration station avoided removal thanks to her talkative parrot. The bird shouted a chant and startled inspectors, convincing them she was returning to America after a visit to Italy despite her lack of English.

Maurice Iowa Council Grants Liquor Sale Consent
In Maurice Iowa on January 2 1911 the town council with Mayor J C Emery and members present voted to approve Resolution No 4 granting consent to J H Edwards to sell intoxicating liquors within the town limits Lot 4 Block 9. Ordinance No 46 on alley razing in Block 17 was read on first reading. Treasurer reported and approved. Adjournment followed.
