The M C G defeated Orange City Academy 36 to 6 while Maurice High School lost 26 to 20 to Second Academy. A good crowd attended the games. Boys and girls teams will play next Saturday evening.
Notice to all interested parties of the probate hearing for FP H Moran late of Sioux County Iowa. The hearing is set at the Court House in Orange City on March 28 1917 at 10 o clock A M to determine if the instrument presented is the last will and testament. The District Court Clerk Olin G Reiniger signs and seals the notice dated February 6 1917.

Westra a prominent Center township farmer dropped dead in Banhamas store at Sioux Center while waiting for his wife from Sioux City. He had been in his usual health with a few prior attacks and leaves a wife and several children. A program will be held at River View school February 19 1917 followed by a bassett supper.

Ira Levering and W S Johnston visited Orange City on business. Harold Nickle came to Sioux City for a visit. The Yates arrived from Hawarden for a short stay. English services planned at the German Lutheran Church Sunday at 7 30. Eli Gunderson injured by a horse breaking his leg. Eugene Black returned from Craig where he cared for Mr Hazzard. Martin Orton and sister Carrie were visitors from Ireton. Jake Cartano ill with pneumonia. Mr and Mrs E W Black returned from Chicago after a week away. A daughter born to Mr and Mrs H D Hilers Monday. Mrs Emil Steffen visited Pierson. Mrs Chas Saldow of Hawarden visited sister Mrs Herman Hilers. Mrs John Edwards and granddaughter Clebeth Bailey traveled from LeMars, returning Monday. Fred Franke visited LeMars to see son Henry in local hospital. Anna Hever and Christian Westergard wed at bride’s parents home. Rev Gillman officiated. They will live on bride’s father farm near Ireton. Miss Htta Witt and Peter Moeller wed north of Treton, now living on a farm north of Treton.

The infant of Mr and Mrs Herman Eilers passes away and will be buried in Craig.
