Edgar Sees GOP Edge in Illinois Gubernatorial Push
In Tinley Park a GOP rally led by House Minority Leader Lee Daniels and Gov. Jim Edgar rallied about 350 supporters. Edgar framed the race as the best GOP chance since 1952, targeting a Republican House majority and criticizing Democrat Dawn Netsch. He touted crime control, education funding, welfare reform, and a portable health plan while pledging no tax hike and denouncing Netsch’s positions.
