FOP urges officers to attend Haltek hearing at village hall
Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 163 urges members from Richton Park Park Forest Olympia Fields and Matteson to attend a police and fire commission hearing Saturday into Sgt Richard S Haltek alleged department rule violations. Haltek 13 years on the force was put on administrative leave then suspended without pay as charges include outside employment without permission misuse of 1000 rounds of ammunition and time spent with a female Acquaintance on March 26. The hearing at 9 a m will decide if Haltek is guilty and potentially leads to firing. Redpath notes the chief violated rules by appointing a lower ranked investigator and calls the process unfair while stressing the open public nature of the hearing and funds for Haltek's defense.
