Scenic 10 Marathon Draws Record Field on Labor Day
More than 2 000 runners from local and international circles participated in Park Forests Scenic 10 ten mile road race now in its 22nd year with Libbie Hickman of Fort Collins Colorado winning the womens division and Bud James noting a surge in entries. Kenyan runner James Kariuki, a Homewood resident, captured the mens crown with John Kariuki finishing ten seconds back as crowds enjoyed musical accompaniment and spirited support along the course.
