FRANKLIN SHUFIAN reports a Legislative Redistricting commission plan to redraw maps to add Senate districts and split five south suburban districts into two House districts. The proposal, backed by Democrats on the commission, could challenge veteran Republican incumbents like Frank Ozinga and draw in Rep. Harry Yourell for potential Senate bids. The map must pass by October 4, with districts possibly violating compactness rules and affecting where incumbents live or seek reelection.
