Mothers custody battle continues after alleged kidnapping
Police say Michael's foster parents, fighting for permanent custody for three years, had Dru Mosgaard and her son under surveillance in Steger. Detectives hired in Florida, where the foster parents reside, allegedly used a south suburban agency to arrange Michael's kidnapping last month. Michael told his mother he did not know the three men, though she believes he would recognize them if confronted. He said he was taken in a van to an airport and then to an unknown location.

New Plaza Concept Unveiled for Park Forest Plaza
Park Forest officials weigh a Pratt Architecture plan for a multi phased renewal of the Park Forest Plaza. The proposal features denser mixed use with condos and multi level parking, an expandable central enclosure, year round marketplace, modular shops, kiosks and a living shopping concept aimed at revitalizing the downtown area amid ongoing village discussions with plaza owners Fifield and Palmer and potential bond financing. The chamber notes the design targets increased activity through better land use and reduced car dependence leveraging regional transit and central village events. The plan emphasizes community vitality, cultural venues, and the proximity to Governors State University Prairie State College and Thornton Community College to support a cultural and economic rebound.
