Matteson Commons Site Topic At Meeting

South Suburban Archaeological Society sponsors a free lecture by Robert F. Nale titled An Illus the Matteson Commons Site at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Homewood following refreshments at Marie Irwin Center 18121 Highland Ave. The Matteson site southwest of Cicero and Vollmer was leveled by urban development. It represents an early man campsite used for hunting and gathering 9,000 to 10,000 years ago. Nale and others salvaged the prehistoric record by surface hunting cataloging studying and photographing artifacts. Contact 755-2054 or 798-3998 for more information.
