Civil War Days at Holy Trinity in Matteson
Civil War days to be held at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Matteson on Saturday and Sunday. Camp Full er of Rockford and other Civil War buffs will set up on church grounds with fife and drum performances, a six pounder cannon, and infantry and cavalry demonstrations. Surgeon Gordon Dammann of Lena Ill. will give keynote talks in Gettysburg week and in Washington next summer. Sunday includes a 9:30 a.m. worship service with 1860 era field service and fife and drum music. Continuous demonstrations run Saturday 11 to 5 p.m. and Sunday to about 3 p.m.
