Suspect jumps from car nabbed by police after chase
Rico Merritt 41 of Chicago was charged with four counts of theft resisting a peace officer and possession of a stolen vehicle after a car theft led to a chase near Halsted Street and Hood Avenue. Merritt jumped from the moving car, the wheel ran over his foot, and he was captured after a short pursuit. Kennedy 29 of Calumet City was charged with felony retail theft. both were released on bond with an October 26 court date.
