Pastor Edgar H. Albers Installed at Zion Lutheran Matteson
The Rev. Edgar H. Albers is to be inducted as pastoral assistant at Zion Lutheran Church in Matteson during the 10:45 a.m. service. He previously led Immanuel Lutheran in Mokena for 12 years, counseled Circuit 23 in the Northern Illinois district, and edited daily bulletins for district conventions. He also served three years as associate director of public relations for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Richton Park Blood Drive Scheduled For Oct 17 18
Richton Park hosts its semi annual Red Cross blood drive October 17 from 4 to 9 PM and October 18 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Municipal building on Sauk Trail at Latonia Drive. Donors aged 17 to 65 in good health and over 110 pounds are sought. Chair Sue Buckenmyer notes a decade of community donations and volunteers. Call 481 7649 to sign up.

Blood drives continue October 25 in Monee and Park Forest South
The Monee township blood drive enters its third phase with donations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion hall in Monee and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pilgrimage Protestant church in Park Forest South. Donors may contribute in either town and credits count toward each town’s quota. Past totals show Monee at 47 pints and Park Forest South at 57 pints toward yearly goals of 94 and 240 pints respectively. Flood replacement claims can be made by calling the township office with patient and hospital details.
