Matteson Plans Bids for Cheaper residential Trash Pickup
The Matteson village board agreed to seek bids for residential garbage collection to obtain a better rate. The current Star Disposal contract, dating from November 15, 1982, would be renegotiated though no price increase is being sought. Trustee Dean Witteheller praised service but urged lower costs while the board also approved a library space lease at the community center through 1989 with a five year renewal option and a planned April referendum on funding a new library building.

Richton Park Moves To Franchise Illinois Bell
Richton Park trustees and Village President Morell Reeves weigh a proposed amended franchise with Illinois Bell Telephone. The village would gain about 1079 dollars monthly in 1984 from access line fees around 25 cents per line, with renegotiation possible after June 30 1986. Between 3000 and 4000 access lines exist in Richton Park and the village will vote on the measure tomorrow night.
