Regional Action Project aims to boost South Metropolitan greenspace
Paula Wolff and Ronald Bean lead RAP/2000 efforts to link open spaces from 87th Street Chicago to Joliet and the Indiana border. The plan targets preservation and restoration of key natural areas, brownfields cleanup, and creation of a South Metropolitan Greenways Council to guide regional open space linking, recreation, education, and habitat protection. A January 19, 1996 conference at Governors State University will explore council formation and regional leadership efforts.
