U.S. Rep. Edward Derwinski won the fourth district race with about 66 percent of the vote, carrying all townships including Stickney. His margin over Andrew D. G Barry McEldowney, a seven year veteran and senior member of the Matteson Elementary School District 162 board, resigned Tuesday night. The remaining six members accepted the resignation with regret. A December 5 meeting will fill the vacancy. candidates must submit qualifications by November 24 for interviews on November 29 and 30.
