Fire destroys Richton Lanes bowling alley in Richton Park

Investigators probe a million-dollar blaze that leveled the Richton Lanes bowling alley at 22413 Governors Highway in Richton Park. About 75 firefighters worked four hours to extinguish. Village rolls out aid as food plant eyeing relocation

East of Wenn rare onsesals plan an incentive package to lure a Chicago based food processing plant to move to the village. Village Manager David Niemeyer says the plant is not at the door yet but could be enticed with incentives. Economic consultant Annie Cardona outlines a deal using a tax increment district on Central Avenue and Sauk Trail. The package would reimburse land and infrastructure costs from TIF revenues, with an estimated 97 365 yearly property taxes generated and most funds used for village costs and improvements. The 2 1 acre parcel is owned by Northern Illinois Gas Co and offers sight to 10 acres within the TIF district with a county tax abatement as added incentive.

Four win seats as Rich Township board shifts with final vote

In final Cook County results six candidates vied for four Rich Township High School District 227 seats. Incumbents Edwin Burnette and Brenda Hamilton Smith were re-elected with 2,367 and 1,602 votes respectively, while Scott Umbrell won an elected seat with 2,296 votes. Incumbent Burdell Chapman lost, finishing with 1,526 votes, and challenger Janice Hurst led among newcomers with 1,933 votes alongside Orrville L. Brown’s upset for District 180.
