DeAngelis to push study on third Chicago airport plan
State Senator Aldo DeAngelis plans a new push this week to authorize a study on the feasibility of a third major Chicago area airport. The resolution, to be introduced in the Senate Executive committee, calls for IDOT to examine sites, financing, highway and air traffic, noise and pollution impacts, with support from Senator Robert Kustra.

Teen charged with mother's murder in Matteson case
A 16 year old Matteson youth and his 18 year old cousin were to be charged with murder and concealment of a body in the death of Janice D'Andrea. The partially decomposed body was found in a car after a traffic stop on Route 30. Police say the victim, a 34 year old nurse, was last seen Sunday and the crime may have occurred in the family home basement. Autopsy pending to determine exact cause of death.

Matteson area veterans gathered Monday for a Memorial day parade and prayer service in Memorial park at 212th place and Tower avenue. World War I veteran George Ross laid flowers at the memorial as Rev. Robert Myers opened the service. Rich South high school band played the national anthem and taps, with closing prayers by Father Edward Cronin.
