South Suburban College faculty ratifies two year pact
After a four day negotiation the South Suburban College faculty association approved a two year contract by a 71 to 36 vote on April 18 19. The agreement raises 5 percent in year one and 5.7 percent on average in year two with variations by education and experience. The deal adds 200 more annually to medical premiums raising totals to 3900 and 4100 respectively and includes salary steps for summer school teachers and reduced class sizes for foreign language courses. Tenured faculty gain $300 tuition reimbursement, now up to 1000 a year, and nursing faculty earn a full hour of seniority credit for off campus work. The contract takes effect Aug 1 and runs through summer 1995 and awaits Board of Trustees approval at the June 3 meeting.
