Matteson trustees approve first reading of annexation and agreements for an 80,000 square foot shopping plaza on Cicero Avenue at Route 30. The center anchored by a 36,000 square foot Child's World and a 25,000 square foot store will include smaller shops. Residents seek light, buffer, and expense concessions. most are covered by village rules.
Matteson and Richton Park Boards vote to participate in a six to twelve week NBC and WMAQ television advertising campaign highlighting south suburban communities, developers and a financial institution. Richton Park endorses a Dunkin Donuts sign variance and a 100 percent hike in water shut-off charges.
James Kasalko of Homewood works as a part time animal trapper for homeowners across the south suburbs. He designs and uses improvised traps from discarded carts to capture raccoons skunks and opossums.
