Boy in Country Club Hills fires gun during play
A 14 year old boy playing with his father's loaded gun discharged it, sending a bullet through a wall in the Idlewild Drive home. The father held a valid firearm card and was not charged. Farmer, 20, was charged with criminal damage to property after breaking a window in Steger. A Crete man was charged with retail theft and battery at a Kmart in Steger, following an attempted theft with a bottle of cologne triggering security.

Train Hits Car Injuring Two In University Park
Police said two people were slightly injured when a train struck a car stopped on tracks at University Parkway and Governors Highway at 6 15 a m. The vehicle’s front bumper was damaged and both injured were transported to Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital for treatment. Identifications and conditions were not immediately available.
