Uprooted family drives Internet crime bills debate
Deborah Boehle and her Joliet family moved after bogus Internet messages claimed their daughter was sexually involved with family members. The case spurred the Protecting Children From Internet Predators Act, backed by Rep. Weller, aiming to criminalize certain online harassment of minors. The family now shields details with new home numbers and alarm systems while pursuing a broader law.
