Markham Woman Charged After Fatal Stabbing Outside Blue Island Home

Okema McLoyd 19 of Markham is charged with first degree murder after allegedly stabbing 17 year old Dennis Franklin in the thigh during a dispute outside a Blue Island area residence. Bond set at 50000. Franklin bled to death within an hour. McLoyd allegedly admitted to stabbing him. Police say she later lied about the events surrounding the night.

Double murder in Dolton man held

Dennis Paul Thompson Jr. 19 of Chicago is charged with two counts of first degree murder for shooting his father Dennis Thompson Sr. 39 and Don Renee Rouse 40 in Dolton home. Thompson jailed in Cook County awaiting bond. Police say the killings appeared domestic. no motive or employer details released. This follows a second Dolton double homicide within seven weeks, but officials stress no public danger and no drive by pattern.
