Richton Park trustees weigh revenue funds and road projects

Richton Park trustees held a brief public hearing on spending 58000 in federal revenue sharing funds with a proposed 1000 increase to Aunt Martha's Youth Service Center. Absent trustees halted further talk as a 2500 donation ceiling was discussed and Sauk Trail road upgrades were outlined by officials.

Matteson Library to Offer Defensive Driving and Literacy Programs

Matteson public library plans two special offerings. A defensive driving course taught by Trooper Odell Thompson of the Illinois state police runs two sessions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and April 7, with a $1.50 workbook fee. Literacy Volunteers of America will recruit volunteer tutors at an 8 p.m. meeting Tuesday. Also, three family films play at 8 p.m. featuring The Mole in the Zoo, Leave Em Laughing, and a Thoroughbred life story without narrated music.

Rich township board to hold annual meeting April 10

Rich township board of trustees reviewed the agenda and budget for the upcoming annual town meeting at Rich Central High School Olympia Fields. A public hearing will discuss the proposed 532 731 budget and appropriations ordinance for town general assistance and revenue sharing funds at 8 p.m. on April 10. Adele Freed of Olympia Fields resigned as youth coordinator effective Sunday. A handicapped parking program with other municipalities was adopted to aid enforcement. placards will allow disabled drivers to park in designated spaces without license plate ID.
