Illinois House advances bill to create convention authority
The Illinois House endorsed House Bill 3461 to establish a Convention Center Authority with power to seek federal state and local grants for building convention centers. The measure envisions a five member initial board with later elections and could enable a Tinley Park site near 183rd Street and Harlem Avenue to expand into a larger regional facility.
