Kustra backs Chicago South Suburbs airport plan

Lt Gov. Robert Kustra, a Republican Senate candidate, urged support for a third airport in the Chicago South Suburbs to spur job growth and regional development. He argued a Peotone site could create up to 236,000 permanent jobs and over 100,000 construction roles, criticizing Al Salvi for opposing such growth.

Polish group offers four $500 scholarships this year

The Polish American Community Fair awards four $500 scholarships to college-age students of Polish or Slavic extraction from the south suburban area. Applicants must email a request to the Scholarship Chairman and include a self addressed stamped envelope and a listing of participation in heritage organizations. They must be members of a Polish or Slavic fraternal organization. Deadline to apply is June 1 with submissions to Bernardine Gwiazda by June 15.
