Gov George H Ryan asked the FAA to review plans for a Peotone area inaugural airport to be built in phases over five years. The 468 million project covers 4100 acres with a 12140 foot runway a 12 gate terminal and I 57 access. Financing would come from federal and private sources not state funds. Property acquisition would start after the FAA reviews the environmental assessment.
