Border dispute deadline set for sewer service talks

Officials from Frankfort University Park and Consumers Illinois Water Co. set a three month deadline to resolve who can provide sewer service to Green Garden Town ship. If no deal is reached NIPC will forward recommendations to the EPA. a three-member mediation panel will oversee talks.

Inaugural-size airport included in Ryan's plan

Gov George H Ryan asked the FAA to review plans for a Peotone area inaugural airport to be built in phases over five years. The 468 million project covers 4100 acres with a 12140 foot runway a 12 gate terminal and I 57 access. Financing would come from federal and private sources not state funds. Property acquisition would start after the FAA reviews the environmental assessment.

Illinois proposes inaugural airport facilities for first five years

Springfield IDOT detailed plans for the proposed airport covering 2003 to 2007. The facilities include 4,112 acres of land with environmental noise mitigation, a single 12,140 foot runway, and projected passenger, cargo, and aircraft operations on opening day and through year five.

Richton Park Commission Aims to Unite Local Groups in 1999

The Richton Park Human Relations Commission laid out an ambitious 1999 agenda to unite schools religious groups homeowners associations and other commissions. Chair Akemi Bailey Haynie announced plans including a Ring Around Rich Unity Day and a joint event to boost leadership and village participation.

Computer maintenance class planned for Rich Township high schools

Rich Township High School District 227 will pilot Network Design and Maintenance at Rich South next school year with Cisco Systems funding a $40,000 grant for equipment and training three teachers. If successful, the course may expand to Rich East and Rich Central. Harold Huang notes it equips students with marketable networking skills for college and careers.
