Three Flossmoor car burglaries yielded Motorola flip phones with one wallet later recovered on a tree limb. A 35mm Konica camera and cash were also involved as a front passenger door was pried open in a lot behind a business on Flossmoor Road. No forced entry appeared in two incidents.
Crete 25-year-old Katherine Morris of 1602 East Ave. was charged with DUI, DUI over .10, improper lane usage and failure to give information after a hit‑and‑run in the 1300 block of Main Street. Police said her vehicle matched the suspect car and a witness identified her.
Kenneth C. Hufnagle, 39, of 611 219th St., died Friday night at St. James Hospital from head injuries after a Thursday crash on Sauk Trail. The other driver, wearing a seat belt, was uninjured. Hufnagle’s 6-year-old daughter was treated for minor injuries and released. Police noted uncertain seat belt use. Nearby, two cars were damaged by a rock-initiated window smash on Brookview Lane in Crete Township.
An 80 year old man sleeping in the bed woke as a man forced entry at 11 22 p m on Rage Drive in an apparent ruse and the intruder fled with the tie containing a wallet after the homeowner kicked him. Police later arrested three Chicago Heights men and two area teens on weapons and cannabis charges after a car stop in East 22nd Street. A separate robbery of a Little Caesar's Pizza driver on Park Avenue near 11 p m involved two suspects with a knife and a pistol demanding $50
