Village greets two new police hires
Richton Park trustees welcomed Amanda Wojcik and James Galvan to the Police Department after 12 weeks of training. Wojcik, 23, an Oak Forest resident, earned a U of I speech degree and worked as a student patrol for the UIC Police. Galvan, 25, of Crete, is the last officer funded by the federal COPS program and will be the 26th officer hired under it. Both begin 10 weeks of field training and will work all shifts. The department also received two Ford Crown Victoria cruisers bought earlier this year.

Richton Park Backs Diversity Inc. In Fair Housing Push
Richton Park joins Richton Park joins University Park in approving a resolution supporting Diversity Inc. and the Housing Coalition of the Southern Suburbs to promote fair housing and community relations. Diversity will advise on policy and training for member communities while representing their interests to government and other agencies. Richton Park approves funds for Sauk Trail Cicero turn lane
Richton Park trustees authorize 1100 in Motor Fuel Tax funds for the village portion of engineering costs on the Sauk Trail Cicero turn lane project. Barton Ashman will handle the engineering, previously approved on Richton Square Road work.
