Olympia Fields Considers Park Forest Library Pact

Residents back a library proposal with 45 percent of households signing a petition urging the village to join Park Forest’s library system. Trustees review a two year demonstration contract at 25000 for year one and 35000 for year two with a potential referendum for a permanent district in 1985.

Matteson Jaycees install new officers for year

The Matteson Jaycees installed a new board effective June 1. Bill Kivi becomes president with Chris Chinni as community action vice president, Mike Wells as vice president of individual development, Bruce Downs as treasurer, Bob Kolberg as secretary, and Jim Hunter as state director. The group plans to boost local involvement and recalls 1982 activities.

Aunt Martha's lot seeks more foster families

Spring Hill board votes hires and upgrades in District 159

In Alabama the District 159 board appointed two to the Spring Hill area board and approved school building and audio upgrades. Leaks in the Yates school roof were fixed with final payments around 20 000 to architect and contractor after inspection. A portable sound system was approved. Five teachers were hired for next year including Francine Calabria and Judith Gonzales. Yvonne Mullins to attend an NSPRA meeting in Orlando in July.

Immanuel Lutheran hosts two week vacation Bible school

Summer activities at Immanuel Lutheran Mattoon include a two week vacation Bible school from June 20 daily 9 to 11 30 a m with tiered family rates. A youth car wash at Cicero Ave and Sauk Trail runs Saturday 9 a m to 1 p m for a free will donation. The Zion Lutheran senior high youth depart for Great America today at 8 30 a m for a day trip. The first midweek worship at Zion begins today 7 30 p m with Rev Robert F Myers. prayers continue each Thursday through June July August. Sunday services at Zion start 9 30 a m in the summer. Pastor Myers marks 15 years ordination while Rev Edgar Alber reaches 45 years since ordination. Elizabeth Altar guild notes officers Kay Schoeneman and Dee Jensen. guild donates 50 to youth treasury and plans 12 corporals for communion services.
