183rd Street expansion set to stretch five years
State funds of 27 million will extend 183rd Street from Harlem to 80th Avenue and widen to four lanes. The 191st Street LaGrange Road intersection in Mokena will cost about 3.7 million. Project financed largely by Illinois FIRST with local village contributions. Officials expect construction to start within 12 to 18 months and conclude within five years.
