Richton Park Water Ban to Stay Three Weeks More

Richton Park maintains a water ban with no expectance of lifting until the emergency interconnection with Park Forest is finished in about three weeks. Public Works Director Dan Fielding says the 12 inch interconnection will supply water for emergencies across the village, while the Matteson six inch link could only provide minimal water and delays could hinder fire suppression. The ban keeps pumping at 1.3 to 1.4 million gallons daily as officials weigh storage expansion to 500,000 gallons and study future needs.
