Crete Monee High School to change graduation credits
Crete Monee High School will require at least 220 credits to graduate replacing 220 semester hours. School board members voted to align with Illinois standards, ending the five credit hour per course system and moving toward a half credit per semester. The change aims to avoid transcript confusion for colleges and universities.

Barr retires from District 162 Board after long service
District 162 Board member David Barr retires on June 20 to focus on his role with the GSU Foundation. In a letter to Superintendent Sandra Schmutzler he said the move reflects time constraints from serving two boards and his eight-year-old son's progress in District 162. Barr praised staff development and community involvement while noting the district has made strides in planning under Schmutzler. He was honored as Education's Public Relations Ambassador of the Year by the Illinois chapter of NSPRA and has held leadership roles with IASB.
