Two dogs drown in flood disaster in Homewood
Heavy rains flood Homewood causing three deaths and widespread damage. Three show dogs drowned in crates in a basement at 3003 Olive Road, while two other dogs survived. Owner Jim Theis and trainer Jim Tynan mourn the loss of Indy Hobbs and Hanna the pregnant golden retriever, noting they had kept dogs in crates for security. They blame a sump pump failure for the rapid flood and say they may rethink breeding and showing dogs.
