Polish folktale night at James Hart School in Homewood
The James Hart School in Homewood hosts two Polish folktale performances at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday featuring 50 students aged 8 to 14 in six stories. Tickets are $1 with intermission snacks. Directed by Greg Weise, the event showcases Eastern European folk traditions for area residents.

Endangered birds nest at Lake Renwick Nature Preserve
Lake Renwick Heron Rookery Nature Preserve in Plainfield, co owned by the Forest Preserve District of Will County, hosts five nesting bird species including state threatened varieties. Open Saturdays 8 am to through August 28 with programs at 9 10 and 11 am and Wednesdays 10 am for a one hour interpretive program.
