The June 11 Matteson Festival drew about 14 500 attendees despite a large Bulls tele vision audience. Organizers borrowed a big screen from Silo for two nights. Parks Director Jim Sharp praised the festival as family oriented and low cost while noting growth in attendance and revenue. Final receipts neared 50 000 with costs around 65 400, slightly under expectations. An open organizing meeting is set for August or September with the Matteson Jaycees hosting an open house at the Field House.
